Marriage is about so many things but most importantly it’s a union of two people who commit to each other and promise to love and care for one another through the ups and downs of life. Although the two characters were obviously in love and devoted to each other, they both had underlying issues from their past which hindered their relationship. They were both “damaged”. The wife allowed him to act on his impulses even though it tore her apart inside. The emotional turmoil from both parties was obvious but the sacrifices she made to keep the marriage alive were incredibly selfless. I found myself genuinely wrapped up in the emotions of the characters. This is an amazing and very powerful film.
